Rabbit anti-4EBP1 Antibody Affinity Purified
Product Details
Specifications
The epitope recognized by A300-501A maps to a region between residue 75 and the C-terminus (residue 118) of human eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4E binding protein 1 using the numbering given in entry NP_004086.1 (GeneID 1978).
Immunoglobulin concentration was determined using Beer’s Law where 1mg/mL IgG has an A280 of 1.4. Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to 4EBP1 immobilized on solid support.
The epitope recognized by A300-501A-T maps to a region between residue 75 and the C-terminus (residue 118) of human eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4E binding protein 1 using the numbering given in entry NP_004086.1 (GeneID 1978).
Additional Product Information
Eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4E-binding protein 1 (4EBP1) binds directly to eIF4E to inhibit complex assembly for translation initiation. 4EBP1 is part of a family of translation repressor proteins. 4EBP1 is directly phosphorylated by the mTORC1 complex during growth factor stimulation of cells. Phosphorylation of 4EBP1 causes its release from eIF4E to allow translation to proceed.
Alternate Names
4EBP1; 4E-BP1; BP-1; eIF4E-binding protein 1; eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4E-binding protein 1; PHAS-I; phosphorylated heat- and acid-stable protein regulated by insulin 1
Applications
All western blot analysis is performed using 5% Milk-TBST for blocking and as antibody diluent. Primary antibody is incubated overnight.
Western blots of cell lysates are performed using Goat anti-Rabbit IgG Heavy and Light Chain Antibody (Cat. No. A120-101P).
