Production Procedures
Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to GCC185 immobilized on solid support.

The epitope recognized by A303-568A maps to a region between residue 1 and 50 of human 185 kDa Golgi coiled-coil protein using the numbering given in entry NP_852118.1 (GeneID 9648).

Immunoglobulin concentration was determined using Beer’s Law where 1mg/mL IgG has an A280 of 1.4.

Additional Product Information

185 kDa Golgi coiled-coil protein (GCC85) is a Golgin which probably tethers transport vesicles to the trans-Golgi network (TGN) and regulates vesicular transport between the endosomes and the Golgi. As a RAB9A effector, GCC85 is involved in recycling of the mannose 6-phosphate receptor from the late endosomes to the TGN. Golgin may also play a role in transport between the recycling endosomes and the Golgi. It is required for maintenance of the Golgi structure, and it is involved in the biogenesis of noncentrosomal, Golgi-associated microtubules through recruitment of CLASP1 and CLASP2. Applications

All western blot analysis is performed using 5% Milk-TBST for blocking and as antibody diluent. Primary antibody is incubated overnight.

Western blots of cell lysates are performed using Goat anti-Rabbit IgG Heavy and Light Chain Antibody (A120-101P).

Western blots of immunoprecipitates are performed using an anti-Rabbit IgG Light Chain HRP-conjugated antibody with 5% Normal Pig Serum (Cat. No. S100-020) added to the blocking buffer.
